2021 has already seen great success for the Hunter Wildfires. The club celebrates their launch into Sydney’s premier grade rugby union competition and teams up with David Campese to ensure they put their best boot forward. Campese offers the club expert guidance both on and off the field in his new Ambassador role. World Cup Winner and Hall of Famer Campese is the club’s secret weapon to fighting strong in a tough season.
“Rugby has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a player and now a coach and ambassador of the game, I’ve learnt that giving back to the grassroots of this great game, is where I can have the most positive impact. When I was offered the opportunity to join the Hunter Juniors and Wildfires, I jumped at the chance to join a rugby region that understands the value of investing in grassroots. I look forward to mentoring both the players and coaches and developing skilful, entertaining and ultimately a winning style of rugby for the Hunter Region.” ~ David Campese
Campese’s partnership with the club offers a boost of awareness to Rugby in the Hunter, offering local players a rewarding opportunity.
